Studio Intern
2025
Having just finished interning at Katie Mangan Millinery, I gained an invaluable experience in the art of traditional craftsmanship and bespoke accessory design. This role has significantly deepened my understanding of fabric manipulation, precise cutting techniques, and the creative possibilities within millinery.
Working one-on-one with Katie has given me a unique perspective on how a small fashion business can operate differently from larger brands, offering an incredibly diverse and hands-on learning environment.
My responsibilities include hand-sewing intricate details using advanced appliqué techniques and designing and crafting bespoke fascinators tailored to each client’s preferences. I also assist with the preparation, packaging, and dispatch of customer orders, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and care.
Additionally, I support the brand’s digital presence by developing and scheduling engaging social media content that reflects the brand’s identity and craftsmanship. This experience has allowed me to step into a variety of roles—ranging from design to customer service to content creation—strengthening my adaptability and reinforcing my ability to work independently in a fast-paced, creative environment.
